I am a Catholic Homeschooling Mother of a large family trying to live out God's will for me one day at a time.I once read the following quote " How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives..."I have been really inspired to live my vocation more effectively and joyfully by reading other Moms' blogs and I hope to add what little I can to the mix.

Restocking the Venison
Just in time for the new hunting season to begin, we cooked our last pound of venison and added it to a box of Hamburger Helper. Juby loves this and requested it by getting the box out of the pantry and placing it on the counter! Larry loves to hunt so I have had to learn to cook venison in a myriad of ways. We pay for good processing which makes the meat very easy to use. Our favorite cuts are ground, stew meat and roasts. With fewer people living at home we can eat about two deer per year. Any others harvested we donate to the hungry which is simple to do because the processor prepares it, wraps it and sends it frozen to the food banks. That is paid for by an organization called "Hunters For The Hungry", a worthy charity that helps to provide many thousands of pounds of naturally lean venison to hungry families in our area each year.
