Although perhaps a bit over- scheduled, our Apple Blossom weekend was fun and festive with outstanding weather.Unfortunately, I somehow deleted almost all of my pictures from the two parades. It was a treat to have Tim and Kristy and Greg and Cindi join us for the Firefighter's parade. Jeff came with us to The Grand Feature Parade and the married couples came back too, so we were all together!
We brought lots of food to the parade route party that we have been so fortunate to be invited to the last few years. Our friends set up rows of benches alongside of their house to sit on. Their backyard is fenced in 8 ft tall brick so the kids can play and move around if they get tired of the almost 4 hour parade!
On Sunday afternoon, we went to a BBQ potluck with the parish Youth Group. The good weather continued and it was wonderful to see more of our friends.
They played some great ice-breakers. This game is called Ninja and the teen-agers loved it.They were also kind to the younger kids and played Ninja with them, too. On the way home, we took the peacock way. There is a house with about four peacocks that walk around and it is fun to try to see them. We saw two different males that came right up to the car.We heard them make their distinctive call and missed our peacocks.By then, we were exhausted after having thoroughly enjoyed another Apple Blossom Festival.
