It was such a treat in every way to be able to relax and enjoy our beautiful surroundings at the beach.
We wanted to leave a gift that was fitting to show our appreciation to our hosts for inviting us to stay here again. We kept coming back to the idea of a bench for the back hall leading out to the beach. This is the one we chose.
This bench is made out of a sturdy composite, like Trex. It can be used indoors or outdoors. The wind and sand would destroy anything made of wood over time.We loved the fun "beachy" color and thought it would be practical for holding folded beach towels or other items.A wet bathing suit or towel draped on it won't hurt it.
I loved seeing the girls in sun dresses and all three fit on the bench.
We tried it out and it was quite comfortable. We hope that Dave and his lovely wife like it and don't mind something in this previously open space. It is a very wide hallway.
Meanwhile, Jeff took the opportunity while down south to continue shopping for a gently used BMW. He found one about 30 minutes away and it was just right and more reasonably priced than in the DC area.At the age of 18 he said that he would like to have a nice car by the time he was 25. That birthday is next week. He negotiated a loan and jumped through a few hoops with the credit union. He thought and he thought about it. He picked the car up Friday at 4:30.
This car is a techie's delight. It reminds me of James Bond! It starts with a button and it allows his phone to be answered through its computer. The headlights turn in the direction it is going in.The red leather interior is very nice. He drove it home and loved it. We pray that he has many safe and untroubled miles in it and congratulate him on achieving this personal goal.
We arrived home safely, by God's Grace at 4 am. Larry drove the van, Meg the Honda with Tori and Grant, and Jeff in his new car with Natalie. You can be sure that this mother was praying. My umbilical cords were stretching as we drove in a caravan. We stopped for gas and caffeinated drinks all together.
It was so good to get away and now it is great to be back, ready to finish up our school year.
