Beauty Lou and the Country Beast

Three of my nieces has the privilege of attending a week long summer day camp in an old theater. A professional actress and a director presented the camp as part of a national program that brings the arts to youth. The girls spent each day at the theater, auditioning for and then practicing their roles. On Saturday, they presented the show twice.
Mom and Dad invited the girls' cousins to attend the show about an hour away. I wasn't busy and was thrilled to join them!
We had a terrific lunch of pizza,
and then headed to the very old theater to take our seats.
Cousin A. was a country girl,
Cousin Mh was one of the young sisters. Notice how half the girls are younger, and the other half of the girls,  wearing identical costumes, represent the sisters when they are older.
Little Sweetie was a sheep.
The Missoula Children's Theater International Tour put this camp on for these children. Other two person professional teams put the same play on  this summer with local children in 1200 communities in all 50 states! They have been doing this for 40 years!
The lead professional adult actress could sing like a bird and was so pretty and entertaining. The Director was also a young female professional who directed the whole play. They brought the costumes with them and cast and directed 50 local children from this country town and its environs to experience live theater. This opportunity was extremely affordable at about 30 dollars per child for the week! It was delightful to watch and I am sure even more so to participate in!
