I hate to waste food and rarely do. I kept noticing the ends of loaves of bread gathered up on the counter and decided to throw these into the freezer for a rainy day.
When I had seven small bags of crusts, it was time to make bread crumbs.
After toasting the ends in the oven, I crushed them up and pulverized them further in the food processor.
This good sized bag of whole wheat and white bread crumbs is now in the freezer ready for use in a meatloaf or when making meat balls.
