Service Work

Sam had a great time measuring distances with this wheel as we helped to mark out a "tent city " for a large craft show in town.
Our Youth Group was actually "hired" to help prepare the local park for not only the crafters, food vendors, and car show, but also to install all the signage necessary for directing traffic in and through the park for a huge annual festival.
Another Mom and myself headed this service project up. It required three different times of helping out at the park for the kids from the youth group and a few adults, on a very busy weekend.
On one of the evenings we worked, our group was treated to free pizza and soda! I was delighted to be a part of this. We worked very hard to do our best at what they  needed to be done. The kids had a chance to participate behind the scenes to help put on an annual special event that means a lot to them. I hope that they will remember how much fun it is to be involved and how good it makes one feel!
