Jeff and Chelsea decided to make an investment in an adorable chocolate brown lab puppy. They drove more than 4 hours to pick him up from a reputable breeder at the age of 8 weeks.
They had the supplies one needs, a collar and matching leash, toys, a soft blanket and a nylon crate. We all got a big kick out of Chelsea holding the pup while Jeff was in charge of carrying the stuff to and from the car, just as it should be!
In our extended family, there are many labrador retrievers which seem to make for a great family dog. There is Buddy ( nicknamed, Tug), Judge, and another chocolate lab named Charlie. Jeff told us that the chocolate color is recessive and therefore, rare.
Chelsea grew up raising dogs and is comfortable training them. As for us, with the exception of Larry, we've never been good at understanding dogs and teaching them to be an asset to the family rather than a big hassle.
This little guy, named Dawkins, is very beautiful to look at! He must be special- he's in my living room!
I hope that Dawkins grows up to be a fine dog who is a great companion and fun to be around !
