Honeycrisp and Pink Ladies

Although the season is over for going to the local orchard to buy apples, we are still enjoying delicious apple varieties from our discount grocery store. We did eat four bushels of apples from the orchard through the fall and those varieties were Red and Golden Delicious, Jonagold, Rome, Granny Smith and Gala.
Using the same heavy cardboard bushel box, we are now purchasing the most delicious two varieties of all- Pink Ladies ( the smaller ones above) and the incredible Honeycrisp- the giant apple above. I buy four bags at a time of the Pink Ladies because they keep well and remain firm and crunchy. Eating a  honeycrisp is an experience because the flesh is crispy with little pockets of sweet apple juice almost like a honeycomb full of honey. They are well named! These big apples are sold individually. They are so big, you almost need to split one with someone else!
This is a dinner plate and look how the apple slices fill it! Slicing and dipping in peanut butter is my favorite way to eat an apple and makes for a great lunch. I am extremely grateful to Almighty God for His abundant provision of food!
