Our Anniversary

Larry took the day off from work and we spent it together as is our custom for our Wedding Anniversary. This is something that we both look forward to because with a big family, these kind of days are rare.
We started out with a fantastic breakfast of steak and eggs with all the fixings at Cracker Barrel. What a meal! What a fireplace!
Our anniversary is in the middle of the fall when the leaves are so pretty.
We took a drive in the country and saw beautiful sights. Look at the ears of corn decorating this house along the edge of the porch.
Surprisingly, and spontaneously, we stopped in to visit Larry's cousin and his wife who were babysitting their grandson. We stayed an hour and had a wonderful visit.
We also stopped in to visit another cousin and her husband. This older gentleman has since died so it was great to have seen him so recently.

Believe it or not, we next visited his Dad and Grandma D' s  grave. This was very peaceful.
The Emporium provided wonderful browsing. We didn't buy a thing but looked at so many intriguing items.

Antique furniture so well displayed was a feast for the eyes.
Skyline Drive was our next destination. We used to drive along Skyline Drive when we were dating and on our Honeymoon. Larry's grandfather helped to build the walls along this scenic highway as part of the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps). That was a program to provide work for folks during hard times. This work was hard and meaningful. The result is still enduring. We need a lot more of this kind of hand-up!

More little shops followed! Larry enjoyed browsing as much as I did.

Dinner was fabulous. I had a super good Spinach Salad and Larry had " All you can eat Crab Legs".
He was thrilled to find this deal and it was all delicious.
We really enjoyed our day together and are refreshed for another year of marriage and family life, Please God!
