Dining Room Chairs Recovered

Last Saturday, we completed a chore that has been on the To-Do List for about 5 years.
Which means that it has been needing to be done for about 7!
Our chairs are used daily. They were beyond embarrassing.

We've made a decision to get some projects finished ASAP, before the hunting and football seasons begin.
Meg was our loyal helper as her husband was defending the country for the week-end.
We picked out this upholstery fabric in neutral tan and off-white with stripes of  green and burgundy running through it.
Pre-measuring, we found out  what we would need- 8ft of cloth and 8 feet of vinyl to cover it with. To be safe, we just made it 3 yards of each. The fabric was 60% off at Joann's but it still wasn't cheap.

Larry removed the 4 screws from the bottom of each seat cushion with an electric screwdriver and when finished, he reassembled them. Unlike some women, I do not use tools! I have never learned and really have no aptitude for them. He has always been willing to hang all of our curtain rods and pictures, too.
We took the chairs two at a time. At first the learning curve was steep,
But eventually we got the hang of it and developed an assembly line process.

While we were at it, I remembered that I had purchased a foam pad years before for this chair that needed to be recovered, also. We found it in the closet and luckily had enough of this gorgeous " Hunter" fabric tucked away. This desk chair turned out so well with the new foam pad, that I wished I had had the fore-sight to buy new pads for every dining room chair to make them super padded and comfy.
Although the moods throughout the day weren't always pleasant, we persevered by God's grace and completed all eight chairs plus the desk chair by the end of the evening!
