Beach Bums

Because of the heroic generosity of our friends, we were invited to spend a week at their very beautiful beach house on the coast of North Carolina.  Eagerly, we looked forward to our departure date. At the last minute we decided to take two cars.Jeff and his crew left 5 minutes before us but stopped for provisions for the road. We next saw them 4 hours later passing us.
We had been watching for them and knew that they were near us thanks to text messaging the whole way down. Both cars arrived at the house about 10 minutes of each other safely, by God's grace.

The kids wasted no time in getting down to the sand and into the ocean despite the chill.

Before we left, one of the kids said that he was afraid of sharks, another was afraid of  a hurricane. Jeff was terrified that there wouldn't be a way to connect to the Internet! No problem, there.
Canasta is the evening entertainment.
On Sunday morning, we went to Mass in this open air church just 3 miles down the road.We sat in lawn chairs. I really enjoyed it
Believe it or not, both Tori and Jeff brought schoolwork.Tori submitted her assignment on Murder in a Cathedral and has only one more book to read and write about and she is finished high school.
Jeff had to take his mid-term exams for the two classes he takes on-line. It could be worse:
We are really having a ball just relaxing and being together. We feel very blessed to be here.
