Shark Rescue, Not Attack!

It turns out that some of the kid's shark fears were grounded! When we woke up one morning and looked out the window we saw a fisherman with sea poles set up directly in front of us on the beach.
We couldn't figure out why , with at least a couple miles of open beach, this guy picked the spot directly in front of us to cast those hooks that really toss in the waves. Realizing that the beach is like a road, one can park anywhere, we enjoyed watching him, until Tori saw him letting this big fish die. She pushed it back  even after being told it was a shark! The fisherman turned out to be a great guy.
Seeing that the day was cloudy on Tuesday , we headed to the North Carolina Aquarium about an hour away. They had a big tank with about 6 large sharks ( and 750 other fish) and three divers in it . They clearly made it a point to say that sharks get most of their bad name from Hollywood.
I was able to get these shots of Camp Lejeune before my camera battery became exhausted.
This sign says " Pardon Our Noise, Its The Sound Of Freedom" We saw some very modern helicopter/ planes occasionally flying in formation along the coastline. These pictures are for you, Allyson!

Walking along the beach is so much fun.
And so is going to the pool! I spent a great deal of time reading my book in the sun and LOVED every minute of it. My youngest is now 5 1/2 and can stand up comfortably in the shallow end. I was able to relax more than I ever have before while watching her in the water.I would like to express my gratitude to each of our Guardian Angels for watching over and  protecting us all this week and while we were driving there and back.
I used to be 19....! It doesn't matter! It was pure bliss to be soaking up the warm and at times HOT rays and reading a wonderful novel from Bethlehem Books, Under a Changing Moon.
John, Miss J. and I attempted to play tennis on this beautiful court. We actually got a few consecutive volleys.

One of our favorite things to do is to go to the fudge shop. They make hundreds of pounds right there per week! Samples are free.We bought a pound and saved it for desert that night.

More Beach adventures next time!
