Surf City Pier

We decided ahead of time to try to see a  few attractions at the beach that we had never seen before. Visiting Surf City Pier is one of those ideas. This pier is a very long boardwalk that stretches out over the ocean and costs only one dollar to visit!

People come here to fish. You can rent a fishing pole and buy a 24 hour license for 18 dollars which our guys did one evening for some night fishing. If you have a NC fishing license and your own pole, it is only a dollar to fish here all day and evening.

These are built in fish cleaning stations available for use. The pier is lined with small benches on both sides.

It was very pleasant to walk out on this very long pier and watch the folks fish. This is the view of the beach from on the pier. The sand is very white.

We also watched some surfers who seemed to be getting the job done, here in Surf City!
